Bentworth Mummers are the ‘am-dram’ group based in the village of Bentworth, located in the rural heart of Hampshire. We have members from many of the surrounding villages as well as the nearby town of Alton. Founded in 1989 we have performed one play and one pantomime each year to massed audiences mainly from the local villages. We are a social organisation not a collection of ‘luvvies’ or ‘anoraks’! Our two key principles are: 1. Having fun ( often at the local hostelry! ). 2. Giving our audiences an evening of fun (often at our expense! - and sometimes at theirs!!). We are also an all-inclusive organisation, in that anyone who wishes will be given a part in our productions....so long as we know who wishes to participate before the play or panto is selected. Previous experience on the stage is totally unnecessary. This does not mean that the quality of our performances is low. To the contrary, we try to maintain as high a standard as possible - with some success. We have vacancies in all departments, from directing to floor-sweeping via set design, set construction and painting, make-up, costume, bar work, musicians, oh, and of course actors (of any gender) Please browse through the pages of this site and make up your own mind.
